Rugeley Rugby Club are hoping their squad of avengers will be successful this summer as they don their new kit based on the Captain America superhero.

Rugeley will be participating in a series of 7s rugby tournaments throughout the summer and start their campaign this coming weekend in the Shropshire 7s. The club will be hoping to top last summer’s performances where they won 3 trophies including the Wednesbury 7s title.

The dazzling kits were purchased with the support of a number of local businesses including A51 Sheds and the Chase Pub.

The players are pictured with A51 Shed’s Director Miles Blackham who said

“ It is great to be able to support a local sports club such as Rugeley. The kit looks really smart. I am sure the lads’ defence will be as indestructible as Captain America’s shield and one of my sheds!”.

The Chase Pub also sponsored the shirts and the landlord Steve Banks was similarly impressed:

“I love the new kit and I hope the lads are very successful this summer. The Chase Pub and its regulars will be cheering them on all summer”

Skipper Jacob Graham stated:

“I am really grateful for the support of A51 and The Chase Pub. Thanks to them we will be one of the most sylish team on the 7s circuit this summer and I am sure some of our opponents will be intimidated taking on a team of superheroes.”

The Shropshire 7s is followed by Rugeley’s own 7s tournament which takes place on Saturday 31st May at St Augustine’s Field.

Pictured are Rugeley’s 7s squad (Sam Cotter, Dave Bagnall, Matt Joss, Kurt Cameron, Cei Griffin, Jake Graham, Nathan Homer and Luke Paggett together with Miles Blackham of A51 Sheds).
